Every person has a story worth hearing.
It’s amazing how much beauty we discover when we take the time to understand someone whose life is different from our own. Different languages, different cultures, different beliefs and different ways of communicating all add colour to our world.
The DeafBlind community experiences this every day. When someone takes the time to learn a new way to communicate, something wonderful happens. Barriers become bridges. Strangers become friends. A simple conversation becomes a shared adventure.
Understanding doesn’t require us to be the same.
It simply asks us to be willing to listen, to learn and to meet one another with kindness.
This week, celebrate the differences that make our communities richer. Be curious. Ask questions with respect. Welcome someone into a conversation. You might discover a new perspective—and perhaps even a new friend.
